Accountant / Bookkeeper

Muscat, Oman

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Hybrid Accountant to support our financial operations as well as document management and follow-up activities. This role is ideal for a professional who can handle both accounting tasks and administrative coordination in a structured and efficient manner.

Core Responsibilities

1. Document Management & Archiving (High Priority)

  • Systematic archiving and maintenance of contracts, invoices, financial records, and tender documents
  • Ensuring documentation is organized in accordance with the instructions of the tax consultant and financial advisor
  • Maintaining accurate records for audits, internal reviews, and regulatory requirements

2. Financial Transactions & Follow-ups

  • Recording all financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments
  • Monitoring and following up on incoming and outgoing payments
  • Entering and updating financial data in the company’s accounting system and internal portal

3. Ledger & Account Reconciliation

  • Maintaining and balancing the general ledger
  • Proper classification of expenses and income
  • Reconciling internal records with bank statements and credit card transactions

4. Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Tracking amounts payable to suppliers and receivable from clients
  • Ensuring timely settlements and accurate financial records

5. Payroll Processing

  • Assisting in payroll calculations, tax withholdings, and deductions
  • Ensuring salaries are processed and paid on time

6. Financial Reporting

  • Preparing monthly financial reports, including:
    • Income statements
    • Balance sheets
    • Cash flow reports
  • Submitting reports to management for review and decision-making

Essential Requirements

Skills & Competencies

  • Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Odoo accounting system is a strong advantage

Language Skills

  • Fluent English is mandatory
  • Knowledge of Arabic is an added advantage

Experience & Education

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience in Oman or other GCC/Arab countries
  • Minimum education requirement: High School Diploma
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred

Preferred Criteria

  • Nationality preference: Filipino
